Influence for our Experimental Film

The use of a visual, stage-like floor plan in Lars Von Trier's Dogville (2003) has inspired us to create a similar effect for our film. Whether this be through a composite or physically drawing the plan on the floor using chalk, we feel it will give the piece more impact and add to our chosen abstract 'feel'.
I think that the minimalist stage style used in Dogville enhances the artificial aspect of a film and draws greater attention to the actors and story instead of being distracted by a location's scenery.
We like having the idea of having just a simple door frame to the entrance of the 'house' as the only concrete and visible mise-en-scene and/or prop. However we are unsure of how likely we are to get this prop.
